BIOCOM Life Science Immersion Program-Transition to Industry

Monday-Friday 12-5pm

This intensive four-week certificate program will use industry-driven curriculum to give scientists the business acumen to successfully transition into industrial careers.  The program is designed for graduate students, postdocs and others, with equivalent experience, working in research settings. Expected business exposure gained in program is the equivalent to six months on the job as an entry level scientist/researcher. The program will be taught by a consortium of San Diego academic institutions and industry collaborators, and will include on-site training at four life science companies.

Through a combination of interactive industry presentations, case studies and team projects, graduates of the program will gain:

Practical understanding of the functional units of a life sciences company;

Familiarity with the San Diego regional business environment; and

Their own life science industry network built on interactions with peers, case study work with experts in the field, and possible employment opportunities.
