Submission Guidelines

The Biocommunique is published every two weeks. All submissions are due by 5:00 p.m. on the Friday prior to publication. The BCQ is sent out every other Tuesday evening (Wednesday in the case of a three-day weekend). The publication has a mailing list of more than 10,000 subscribers, with the current issue and archives available at www.biocom.org.

Submitting Your News

BIOCOM accepts newsworthy items (i.e. press releases, articles, submissions, etc) from member companies for publication in the biweekly Biocommunique.

Advertising or advertorial content is not accepted, and all notices are subject to editing for content and length. Word limit on Biocommunique notices is 300 words with an emphasis placed on sending interested readers to Web sites for additional information.

Submit your information as a Microsoft Word document without formatting (i.e. bullet points, charts, text boxes, different fonts/sizes) in an e-mail to the editor, Tim Ingersoll, tingersoll@biocom.org.  Reasonable efforts will be made to include Web sites or URL links to other sites. Adobe Acrobat files (i.e. PDF files), logos and JPEGs cannot be used and will not  be included. Please convert PDF file to text in a Word document and include live Web links to already-posted JPG images.

Graphics and logos should be submitted as links to posted graphics on your company's Web site.

Submitting Events

If you are a member of BIOCOM, or are a non-member with a Southern California event of interest to BIOCOM members that does not compete with members, the Biocommunique will accept Event notices for its Member Events section. Non-member events may be subject to a charge for placement. 

Event notices will be run up to three issues (six weeks) before the event.

Section sponsorships are available for companies wishing to emphasize events in Section teases. Contact Tim Ingersoll for more information.  

Please submit a brief summary of the event (100 words), with the requisite who, what, where, when, why and how to register information. Submit the information as a Word document in raw text without formatting, with links to registration pages.

Adobe Acrobat files(i.e. PDF files), JPGs and logos cannot be uploaded to our server and will not  be included. Please convert PDF file to text in a word document include live Web links to any already-posted images.

Graphics and logos should be submitted as Website URLs to existing images posted on your Web site.

Reasonable efforts will be made to include links to Web-based registration sites. Advertising or advertorial content is not accepted, and all events are subject to editing for content and length.
