
Global Head, Healthcare Investment Banking
Marshall Smith is global head of the Healthcare Group in the Investment Banking Division (IBD) of Goldman Sachs as well as a member of the IBD Executive Committee. Marshall previously served as global co-head of the Consumer Retail and Healthcare Group in IBD and global co-chief operating officer of the Healthcare Group and global head of the biotechnology practice. He joined Goldman Sachs as a managing director in 2005 and was named partner in 2008. Prior to joining Goldman Sachs, Marshall was a senior member of the Biotechnology Investment Banking team at Morgan Stanley. Marshall currently serves as a member of the board of directors of Rethink Food NYC, a nonprofit working to provide low or no-cost meals to New York City families in need. He earned a J.D. from Georgetown University and a B.A. in economics and English from Amherst College.
