Environment & Sustainability

Sustainability starts with the products we use every day. ODP Business Solutions is working with 3M to provide sustainable alternatives to everyday office products you know and trust. The line combines the use of recycled materials with a departure from single-use plastic to provide you with the same reliable products—without the waste. Whether you are looking to ship with the Scotch Cushion Lock Protective Wrap (eliminating traditional plastic cushion and void fill), using tape made from 65 percent recycled or plant-based materials, or keeping your space clean with 3M’s most advanced green system available, it’s simple to make small changes that can amount to a lot. See the whole collection here.
Guests of Hyatt Hotels, including the Hyatt Regency La Jolla at Aventine, will soon be able to eat their breakfast off of foodware made from captured greenhouse gases. The hotel chain has partnered with Origin Materials Inc. and Newlight Technologies to launch this exciting, eco-focused effort. The process uses microbes that absorb methane or carbon dioxide to grow a biological material called polyhydroxybutyrate, which is used to make biodegradable resins that can replace plastic. With Newlight’s first commercial-scale factory of its kind located in Huntington Beach, this initiative sits particularly close to home. From their FedEx Ground workforce career path program, Purple Pathways, to making learning accessible and convenient by offering ten-minute DE&I sessions, FedEx’s commitment to DE&I starts within their own people. In 2022, they launched the FedEx-HBCU Student Ambassador Program, which prepares students at Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) to be future leaders by interacting with FedEx executives and building leadership and career-ready skills.
