Ali Madani is the CEO and founder of Profluent, the AI-first protein design company based in Emeryville, CA. Previously, he led machine learning research initiatives at Salesforce, utilizing deep learning, language modeling, and computer vision. Most notably, Ali was the architect of the ProGen moonshot, which advances generative modeling for protein design.
Ali completed his Ph.D. at UC Berkeley. His work has been published in marquee science subjournals of Nature and Cell, accepted at the top machine learning conferences NeurIPS and ICLR, and covered by national media including Axios, BBC, Endpoints, Forbes, Fortune, TechCrunch, The New York Times, and The Wall Street Journal.
