
Co-Managing Partner, Healthcare Private Capital
Anya Schiess joined J.P. Morgan as co-managing partner of the Healthcare Private Capital group from Healthy Ventures, where she was co-founder and general partner. Prior to Healthy Ventures, Anya led strategy and business development for Cardinal Health’s medical services, distribution and laboratory businesses, and served as a venture capitalist at Thomas, McNerney & Partners. Previously, Anya held several sales and marketing leadership roles at Medtronic, consulted with McKinsey & Company and worked as part of the Piper Jaffray Biotechnology Equity Research team. She also worked on one of the first AI applications in healthcare at a seed-stage startup developing “smart” braces to help patients recover faster following orthopedic surgery. Throughout her career, Anya has invested in and been a board member/observer for over 30 companies, including Virdante Pharmaceuticals (acquired by Momenta), Invitae Corp., Celator Pharmaceuticals (acquired by Jazz) and Innopharma (acquired by Pfizer). Anya earned a B.A. cum laude from Princeton University and an MBA with honors from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.
