Bruce Steel is a co-founder, director and CEO of Equillium. Prior to co-founding Equillium, Bruce was the founder and managing director of BioMed Ventures, the strategic investment arm of BioMed Realty, where he directed investments in over 30 biotechnology companies including Auspex, AnaptysBio, Compass, eFFECTOR, NeoTract and Receptos. Previously, Bruce was co-founder and CEO of Rincon Pharmaceuticals (acquired in 2008), chief business officer at Anaphore, and head of corporate development at Ambit Biosciences. Bruce earned his Bachelor of Arts from Dartmouth College and his Master of Business Administration from the Marshall School of Business at the University of Southern California, and he holds the designation of Chartered Financial Analyst.
